Jogging is a popular choice of exercise as it can take place anywhere and anytime.
However, this most simple form of exercise can be dangerous too. It’s said that jogging can place lots of pressure on knee, and can cause cartilage break down inside a kneecap in a long run.

Having engaged in this exercise recently, I have become more conscious about the state of my knee, especially there are friends who hurt their knees so frequently.

These are top 3 most important tips that I have extracted from several websites.

1. Choose a soft terrain, instead of the concrete running track, which can put on too much pressure on your knees and ankles.

2. Always land mid-footed first before rolling through to the toes. If you land on toes too much, it can induce the tightening of calf and fatigue. If you’re a heel-striker, it can cause energy waste and injury.

3. Keep your hands relaxed and open. Do not clench your fist as it can cause tightening of the arms and shoulders area.

There’s also a test available to test out if you’re suffering from runner’s knees. Below is an excerpt from the Ezine articles.

Testing for runner’s knees
The foolproof test for runner's knee is to sit down and put your leg out on a chair so that it's stretched out straight. Have someone to squeeze your leg just above the knee while pushing on the kneecap. He should push from the outside of the leg toward the centre. Meanwhile, tighten your thigh muscle. If this is painful, you're suffering from runner's knee.

If you’re zealous over jogging, can too check those articles out! It’s on the attached links.

Take care of your knees; they’re your most faithful armies!

Today’s workout:

Jogging: 3km
Climbing staircase: 48 storeys
Period: 66mins

Although managed to extend my distances, I was definitely on slow jog today. While climbing the stairs, the reverberating of my heartbeat is heard constantly, it’s as if my heart is going to jump out from mouth anytime. I guess, it is either I am reaching my physical fitness limit or I am just too exhausted after the daylong event yesterday. Maybe it’s the shoe’s problem also.

Anyway don’t care about it. Just continue to train. Until the day I’m at the Low’s peak! Anticipating (:

Love the rain today, but don’t like the water pools formed along the track.
